Let HIS Love Sing

Let His Love Sing! Zephaniah 3:17 says: 17 The Lord, your God, is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love, he will quiet you with His love, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah was an Old Testament prophet who's calling was to warn Jerusalem of God’s coming wrath if they did not turn from their sins and back to Him. In verse 7 of chapter 3 he urged the people to fear Him, accept His correction and he would spare his punishment. We parallel our lives to the journey of the people of Jerusalem. It is in our nature to want to be self-reliant, to have carnal desires and to be disobedient. Just as parents want their children to rely on them and obey their wishes, God longs for this as well. Zephaniah reminds the people of Jerusalem of God’s love for them in verse 17. He is a “Mighty Warrior, who saves.” He saves us from self-destruction, addiction, and depression. He “quiets us with His love,” releasing us from anxiety and stress of our everyday lives. He “rejoices over us with singing.” God rejoices over us with the beauty of his creation, his provision for us and his desire to have a personal relationship with us. Recognize what earthly possessions God has allowed you to acquire, the beauty of His creation and that such a powerful creator wants a personal relationship with you! Let His love sing over you today, and give him the praise and honor he deserves.
